1. Description of Product:
Fruit based jams, marmalades and preserves and marinades on a commercial basis.
2. Location of the Industry:
This recently constructed speciality built processing unit is located at Yackandandah. Food (fruit primarily) is sourced from within the region, jar lids, sugar & glucose are purchased from Melbourne suppliers, and labels from Sydney.
3. Employment and Labour Requirements:
a. Number of Producers:
1 (not including home based industries supplying a similar market.)
b. Number Regularly Employed:
1 plus four casual on a regular basis.
4. Annual Production:
In the first six months of operation, 30 tonnes of finished fruit products have been produced.
5. Value of Product:
The first six months of production is valued at $150,000.
