Wheat and other coarse grain. eg. Triticale, Barley and Oats, also pulses, ie. Lupins and Peas for stock feed production primary for pig industry. (Bunge, Corowa), dairy and poultry industry.

In Australia there is one wheat harvest, Bunge Feeds buyer sources grain wherever available but very little comes from North East region. This company relies on growers mostly to the north, but also on growers from the Rutherglen region. Approximately 1.5% of coarse grain is sourced from North East Victoria, while 5% of pulses are sourced from the region.

3000 tonnes of wheat and other coarse grains.
4000 tonnes of pulses (peas & lupins).
5. Value of Product:
Coarse grains are purchased from grower for $190/tonne. ie. gross value of purchases from growers in North East Region is $570,000. Pulses are purchased from growers for $200/tonne therefore gross value of production sourced by Bunge from North East Victoria is $800,000. Total value of grain purchases by Bunge Feeds Corowa is $1.37m.

Provision of TAFE accreditation courses in food technology, fitting and electrical trades, and opportunities for open learning.

40,000 tonnes of oats are sourced from Wangaratta, Benalla (small amount only) and north of Murray River. 2000 tonnes only is sourced from North East Victoria. 10,000 tonnes of wheat is used but none effectively from NE region.
