Coming Soon New Australian Alpine Valleys Agribusiness Forum website Australia's AlpValleys comprise 25,000 square kilometres of richly productive agricultural land located in North East Victoria.
These lush and fertile valleys are defined by the Great Dividing Range. Majestically snow capped in winter, the mountains form a hazy counterpoint to the lushness of the valleys. Our varied soils and climate suit nearly every growing thing. The Murray, Kiewa, Mitta, King, Ovens, Broken and other rivers start their long journeys in the AlpValleys. Where the best grows to perfection. |

Please see below a link to the DPI website dealing with the locust threat in the coming Spring.
Egg laying in Victoria has been observed in probably one third of the State, mainly in the North West to North Central and Goulburn Valley areas.
Once there hatch and fly, they can travel hundreds of kilometres in a night, if the wind is right.
DPI are concerned that agriculture production of up to $2billion could be affected.
Therefore all primary producers need to be vigilant.
Please check the DPI website for further information and action advice. |
